Down the street from our apartment is a bustling, cramped, aromatic and delicious bakery. I wandered down and did a series of sketches over the course of a year in a Japanese-style Moleskine. Here are a few drawings.

Side Projects
Lining the walls of the front room are 330 photographs, making up the work My Desk at the End of the Day. People are able to buy each photograph for $1 and take them off the wall. Stacked Memories, Yellow Cutouts, Objects, and zines of other projects make up the rest of the show. On Saturday, Kate's quiches and cupcakes collected a crowd in the kitchen.

Side Projects Art Opening
I always am reading multiple books at once. When we go to the beach, Kate is baffled by my perilous stack. "Why are you taking 4 books? We're only going for an hour." I usually respond that each book is a different kind and I may want to read this or that, then I try to cull the list to one or two.
When making art, I always have a few projects going at once. I tend to jump from this painting, to that photo performance, to this idea over here. Whatever is in front of me is the main focus, until after lunch, when it becomes pushed to the margin while I follow another idea where it leads me. This is how I work, bouncing from one to another. Sometimes projects link in, and other times they seem completely unrelated. Half-realized artworks, buried underneath sediment on my desk, are excavated and conglomerated into new works.
Over the last 2 years of study, I've had a lot of ongoing projects on the side of my main art thesis. This weekend I am exhibiting a few of these side projects. If you are in Sydney today, come to the opening.

New Painting
In the midst of setting up my work for examination, I found time to paint this painting. I suspect it is the last I'll do in my NAS studio.

The Last Cutouts
New Painting Sketch
I did this quick painting from an old family photograph. It is oil on canvas, 16" x 20" I believe the disguised subject is my cousin Shannon.
Daniel Eatock, Please Help!
This photo is one title away from being an Eatock. Something like "Complimentary Cone" maybe. I encourage you to visit his site, voted Britain's Best Conceptual Designer by me, Kate and Paul.
